Backpacking Beauty: Tips and Tricks

When you think of backpacking through the woods, it’s not always a very glamorous vacation or day trip. You’re surrounded by nature which can include wildlife, bugs, damp conditions, and more. Now maybe you’re the type that takes a lot of pride in how you present yourself, so backpacking has presented you with a bit of a challenge. How can you put together a look and exude your regular confidence as you trek through the woods?

To help you out, we’ve gone ahead and put together a few simple backpacking beauty tips and tricks. While these tips and tricks aren’t time consuming or confusing, they can have a pretty big impact on your overall look.

Look for a Product with Built-In SPF Protection

It doesn’t matter what time of year you plan to go backpacking, making sure you are wearing adequate SPF protection on your face is an absolute must. In order to save time and multi-task, you can look for a protect that has built in SPF protection. Many of today’s facial moisturizers come with SPF protection, or you can pick up a foundation or BB/CC cream that contains SPF. Just be sure you look closely at what number of SPF is contained, as sometimes it may not be as much as you need.

Throw a Multi-Functional Mirror in Your Backpack

If you plan on camping out as part of your backpacking adventure, then you’ll always want to bring along a mirror. Rather than throwing a bulky handheld mirror in your pack however, look for an item that is multi-functional and has a mirror built in. For example, maybe you have a small flip brush or comb that also features a mirror in it. This helps you to save on space, but still provides you with the essential items you need.

Use Waterproof Makeup

No matter how little or how much makeup you plan on wearing, you’ll want to be sure each of the products is waterproof. It’s quite common to work up a sweat when backpacking, plus you may encounter a little rain or water along the way. The last thing you want to be worried about is makeup melting off or running down your face.

Stick to the Basics

When it comes to your makeup look, you want to aim for something basic, natural, and simple. You can opt for a lightweight foundation, a little concealer, mascara, blush or bronzer, and a lip balm to keep your lips well hydrated. Finish off the look with a spritz of your favorite perfume from Maple Prime and you will look and feel put together with very little effort and time needed.

Keep Your Hair Off Your Face

The final tip has to do with your hair, which can look pretty disheveled rather quickly when you’re backpacking. To prevent this from happening, just pull your hair off your face with a ponytail, braid, or headband. It will keep everything in place, out of your eyes, and looking put together.

These tips will have you looking and feeling great on your backpacking adventure yet won’t take much time to accomplish.
