Young House Love – The Book

Anybody else as excited as I am about the new Young House Love book? With over 300 pages, the book includes more than 400 photos and illustrations never previously seen anywhere. Filled with lots of ideas, DIY projects and tutorials for your home, it covers everything from big projects to quick and simple decorating ideas.

pre order, savings, book, diy, blogs

The book is set to be released on November 6th but you can pre-order it now for $15.57 (a savings of over $10). I’m already thinking about Christmas gifts (I like to plan ahead) and this book would be perfect for a few of my decor/design obsessed friends!

Take a look at this video sneak peek of the book recently shared by John & Sherry.

Pine Cone Seating Card Holders

After seeing these cute pine cone seating card holders over at Project Wedding (via Pinterest of course), I thought they would be the perfect addition to our Christmas Eve dinner table. Easy to make and super affordable! I can’t wait to see the finish product on the 24th.

1. Mini Pinecones
2. Hacksaw:
3. Safety Glove: 4. Cards for the names
Step One: Set each pine cone down on a flat surface to see how it stands up in order to decide the best place to cut it.
Step Two: Wearing the safety glove and using the hacksaw, cut a 3/4″ slit down the middle of the pine cone.
Step Three: Place the name card in each slot, and you are done!

Simple Photo Ornament project

Inspired by this Pinterest image, I decided to attempt my own DIY photo ornament.  The process was really simple, I purchased a clear ornament from Michael’s – on sale for 79 cents – printed images in several sizes and cut them to fit the ornament. I rolled the image like a scroll, inserted it in the ornament and voila
Note: I printed images in several sizes and selected the one that fit the best.
